Geetanjali Kulkarni, an alumnus of National School of Drama (1996), is an actor working in professional as well as experimental plays in Marathi and Hindi. Mukkam Post Bombilwadi, Sangeet Debuchya Muli, Sex Morality & Censorship, Ek Rikaami baaju, Mummtazbhai Patangwale, Gajab Kahani and Piya Behrupiya are some of the important productions that she has been a part of.   Recipient of the Best Actor – Female (Zee Awards) for Ek Rikaami Baaju and Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Female (Meta Awards) for Sex, Morality and Censorship – Geetanjali is a familiar face in productions on and off-screen. In the year 2011, she was awarded the Sahitya Pratishthan’s Vinod Doshi Fellowship for Young Theatre Artistes.   Geetanjali has been actively associated with Drama School Mumbai, having co-founded the school in 2013. Currently, she is the Project head of Goshtarang- in which children’s literature is performed for tribal and rural children as a part of the Reading-Writing Enhancement Program.  Geetanjali will be in conversation with Padma Damodaran, discussing the fine aesthetics of theatre in India & her journey through theatre, television, films and more.   

Padma Damodaran is a Mumbai-based actor, director, writer and trainer, who has experience across genres and mediums. With vast expertise in performing in plays, films and web series, Padma has dabbled in both contemporary and classical genres. Padma is also a co-founder of the Drama School Mumbai.  She has recently founded her own theatre company – Red Earth Stories, where she brings in her talent of working on scripted and improvised performances. Red Earth Stories successfully presented their first production – Yasmina Reza’s The Unexpected Man, where they handled production, direction and acting. Padma Damodaran is currently working in Mahesh Dattani’s play – The Fair One, where she dons the lead role.   Nominated twice for the best-supporting actress at the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards, Padma has donned the cap of a director through projects like Given by Shivam Sharma, and has also co-directed Smita Bharti’s Single Mingle, which opened at the Qadir Ali Baig festival in Hyderabad. Black Snow, Motipori: the magic of Me are some of Padma’s works that speak volumes of her experience in the field of performing arts in India.
